New Delhi: The two-day Commanders' Conference of Maintenance Command was held from 24-25 May at Nagpur. Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari addressed the Commanders and staff on an opening day. Indian Air Force Chief was received by Air Marshal Shashiker Choudhary, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Maintenance Command.

In his address to the Field Commanders of Depots and Units under Maintenance Command, Air Chief Marshal acknowledged the significant role being played by the Maintenance Command in the maintenance of combat assets of the Indian Air Force, thus contributing to its operational preparedness. He conveyed his appreciation to Maintenance Command for enhancing the serviceability state of weapon systems and ensuring their availability through innovations and technological innovations in the design, development and manufacturing of aircraft components and spares.

The Air Chief Marshal reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects and expressed his satisfaction with the efforts made by Maintenance Command toward developing in house expertise through ingenuity and innovations.

Chief of the Air Staff urged the air warriors to anticipate and plan to meet the challenge of absorbing newer technologies on our platforms and systems whilst simultaneously maintaining them in a combat-ready state. He emphasized the importance of synergizing our thoughts and actions towards maintaining our combat assets in an operationally prepared state at all times.

The Air Chief lauded the efforts of the Maintenance Command in effectively increasing our self-reliance in the maintenance of assets under the "Make in India" programme. He also applauded the steps taken toward the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" programme implementation.
