El Alamein: The Indian Air Force’s Sarang Helicopter Display Team has arrived in Egypt to showcase India’s advanced helicopter flying capabilities at the El Alamein Airshow, marking another step in India’s growing defence engagement with the region.
Flying the indigenously operated HAL Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopter, the Sarang team will demonstrate precision formation flying and a series of complex aerial manoeuvres before an international audience.

The team is also set to debut a new aerial manoeuvre during the event, adding another dimension to its display programme.
Sarang's performances require extremely precise coordination between pilots and aircraft, with multiple helicopters operating in close formation at varying speeds and altitudes.
Beyond its flying display, the team's presence provides international visibility to the Dhruv platform and India's indigenous aerospace capabilities.
India has increasingly used international military exercises, airshows and defence exhibitions as platforms for defence diplomacy and showcasing indigenous systems.
Egypt occupies an important position in India's engagement with North Africa, the Middle East and the wider Mediterranean region. Greater defence visibility in the region can support India's broader efforts to expand military cooperation, aerospace relationships and defence exports.
For India's aerospace industry, international exposure to the Dhruv also carries significance as New Delhi seeks to expand the global footprint of its indigenous defence platforms.
