Pune: Pune-based Bharat Forge on Monday October 1, secured a long-term contract from Pratt & Whitney Canada to supply mission-critical aerospace engine components, with the parts to be manufactured at its aerospace facility in India. The agreement strengthens the Indian company’s role in the global aerospace supply chain and expands Pratt & Whitney Canada’s sourcing from India.

Bharat Forge said its Indian aerospace facility has been developed to manufacture high-performance, high-value aero-engine products using advanced manufacturing technologies and aerospace-grade standards for quality, precision, reliability and traceability. Company Vice-Chairman and Joint Managing Director Amit Kalyani said the partnership would support Pratt & Whitney Canada’s programmes while advancing India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities.

Pratt & Whitney Canada Vice President for Supply Chain Nathalie Rivet said the collaboration reflects the company’s effort to build a resilient, high-performing global supply chain and increase sourcing from India. Pratt & Whitney Canada is part of RTX and is a major manufacturer of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units.

The contract builds on an expanding relationship between the two companies. In July 2025, Bharat Forge announced plans to establish an advanced aerospace ring mill for Pratt & Whitney Canada, with the facility designed to produce high-performance aero-engine components and expected to become operational in 2026.

The development highlights the growing integration of Indian manufacturers into global aerospace production networks, where suppliers are increasingly being entrusted with high-value and safety-critical components. For Bharat Forge, the Pratt & Whitney Canada contract adds another major international aerospace programme to its expanding portfolio and supports its broader transition from component manufacturing towards higher-value aerospace engineering and manufacturing.
