Bishkek/New Delhi: Kyrgyz defence officers and representatives of the Congress of Women of the Kyrgyz Republic recalled their meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bishkek, describing it as a memorable experience and highlighting the strengthening defence and people-to-people ties between India and Kyrgyzstan.

Captain Taalaibek of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Defence said meeting PM Modi was a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” and appreciated his visit to Kyrgyzstan. Having undergone three years at India’s National Defence Academy and one year at the Indian Military Academy, he said his training gave him a close understanding of the defence relationship between the two countries.
Taalaibek said, “the relationship is growing stronger each year,” particularly through the annual KHANJAR joint special forces exercise. He noted that KHANJAR 13 concluded this year, while KHANJAR 14 is scheduled for next year, with military training between the two countries becoming stronger each year.
Senior Lieutenant Baimurza, who also completed four years of military training in India, said he remains in contact with his Indian coursemates and friends, reflecting the strong bonds created through defence cooperation.
Gulaiym Eshbaeva, Head of the International Department of the Congress of Women of the Kyrgyz Republic, described her interaction with Modi as an “inspiring and unforgettable” moment.
PM Modi also met members of the Kyrgyz community in Bishkek ahead of his participation in the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
