Army signs contract with iDex winner to procure indigenous AI-based satellite imaging

New Delhi: Indian Army has signed a contract with a start up Cyran AI Solutions for the procurement of an indigenously to procure indigenous AI-based satellite imaging to bolster its surveillance and targeting capabilities. The procurement is through the Innovation for Defence Excellence (iDEX) channel.

The state-of-the-art system is set to revolutionise the Indian Army's operations with its advanced capabilities.

The Indian Army in a tweet said, “The indigenously developed niche technology will provide real time interpretation of satellite & aerial images, thereby acting as a Force Multiplier to the ground forces.”

With the acquisition of this advanced aerial platform, the Indian Army will bolster its capabilities to gather real-time intelligence, monitor enemy movements, and conduct precise targeting of critical assets.

The RPAV's cutting-edge features, including advanced sensors and communication systems, enable it to conduct surveillance and reconnaissance missions with precision and efficiency. It can operate in various terrains and weather conditions, providing the Indian Army with an upper hand in modern warfare scenarios.

The latest procurement of the indigenously developed RPAV by the Indian Army showcases the success of the iDEX initiative in fostering self-reliance and promoting indigenous technology development. The development of the indigenous RPAV is also aligned with the Indian government’s broader vision of achieving self-sufficiency in the Defence sector.
