Indian Army showcases robotic dogs in parade for 77th Army Day celebrations

The ceremony featured a majestic march past by eight distinguished contingents from various regimental centres, further showcasing the Army’s technological prowess through advanced weaponry and cutting-edge combat vehicles.

New Delhi: Indian Army today celebrated its 77th Army Day in Pune. The day marks the historic appointment of Field Marshal KM Cariappa as the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army in 1949.

In a remarkable display of technological advancement, a platoon of robotic dogs—also known as Multi-Utility Legged Equipment (MULEs)—took center stage during the Army Day march.

The Indian Army recently added 100 of these robotic dogs to its arsenal, designed to enhance operational capabilities, especially in difficult terrains, while reducing the risks faced by human soldiers.
