New Delhi: Surgeon Vice Admiral Dilip Raghavan, VSM, has assumed charge as the Director General Hospital Services (Armed Forces) under the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS).

An alumnus of Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, Raghavan joined the institution in 1985 and completed his MBBS in 1989. He was commissioned into the Indian Navy on December 26, 1989.
During his distinguished career, he has served as Command Medical Officer of the Southern and Eastern Naval Commands and as Commanding Officer of INHS Asvini, Mumbai. During his tenure at INHS Asvini, the hospital received the Raksha Mantri Trophy for Best Command Hospital.
In recognition of his service, Raghavan was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) on January 26, 2026.
His appointment places him in a key leadership position within the Armed Forces Medical Services, overseeing hospital services supporting India's military medical system.
The appointment brings extensive clinical, command and military healthcare experience to one of the Armed Forces' key medical leadership positions.
