New Delhi: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), India's leading aerospace and defence Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, has issued an Expression of Interest (EoI) inviting capable Indian consultants to support its ambitious push into international markets. This initiative aims to strengthen HAL's overseas presence by leveraging expert analysis and strategic partnerships for selling and servicing its fixed wing and rotary-wing platforms.

With expertise spanning design, development, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and upgrades of aircraft, helicopters, aero-engines, avionics, and systems, HAL is positioning itself as a global player. The company offers comprehensive solutions for airframes, mission systems, and even Industrial gas turbines. As part of its strategy to emerge as a major force in the international arena while fulfilling domestic needs, HAL prioritises collaborations that enhance export potential through sustained engagement with foreign decision-makers.

The EoI seeks consultants to analyse defence procurement structures in target countries and devise tailored engagement strategies to broaden HAL's export horizons. Key responsibilities include mapping opportunities aligned with HAL's portfolio—such as the Tejas fighter, Dhruv helicopters, and Light Combat Helicopter—identifying upcoming requirements, and building export pipelines.

Consultants will also facilitate partnerships, including government-to-government deals, vetting of local trading agencies or industry partners for marketing, overhaul facilities, and joint development. Additional tasks encompass sharing insights on local defence ecosystems, recommending prominent companies for collaboration, preparing comprehensive reports with strategies, regulations, and actionable points, and advising on documentation, certifications, MoUs, and contracts.

The focus regions span Africa (including Algeria, Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, and others), Latin America (such as Argentina, Brazil, Peru, and Mexico), and Southeast Asia (covering Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and more). These markets align with HAL's ongoing efforts to offer cost-effective, comprehensive packages including training and maintenance, targeting budget-conscious nations seeking reliable alternatives.

This EoI underscores HAL's commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat while scaling global footprints, building on existing interests in platforms like Tejas and Prachand. By engaging domestic consultants with deep market knowledge, HAL aims to forge sustainable partnerships, drive export growth, and establish long-term service networks abroad.
