The German delegation included Sepp Müller, Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the Bundestag; parliamentarian Vanessa Zobel; and Dr Hans-Georg Feldmeier, CEO of Dermapharm Holdings SE. Representatives from the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and Indian industry leaders also participated in the discussions.
The deliberations highlight opportunities for stronger industrial partnerships, technology collaboration and co-development, alongside greater participation by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Participants also emphasised the importance of improving connectivity and building resilient supply chains to support long-term economic cooperation between the two countries.
Defence and logistics emerged as important areas for potential collaboration. Indian industry representatives from organisations including Texmaco Defence, Bharat Forge and Transport Corporation of India contribute perspectives on expanding industrial engagement and strengthening business-to-business partnerships. The discussions explored ways to translate existing economic ties into practical commercial opportunities.
The interaction came as India and Germany sought to deepen their strategic partnership across trade, investment, advanced manufacturing and technology. With 2026 marking 75 years of diplomatic relations, stronger engagement between policymakers and businesses offers an avenue to expand bilateral economic cooperation and industrial collaboration.
