

New Delhi: Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh (IAS) and Oman’s Secretary General, Ministry of Defence, Dr Mohammed Bin Naseer Bin Ali Al Zaabi, convened the 13th Joint Military Cooperation Committee (JMCC) meeting in New Delhi on November 24, 2025, underscoring the deepening strategic partnership between India and Oman. The meeting focused on expanding defence collaboration, including joint development, technology sharing, and strengthening supply chains, aiming to bolster regional security and defence modernization.

Both delegations reviewed existing defence ties and explored opportunities to expand cooperation through joint development, supply chain resilience, and innovation in emerging technologies. They discussed frameworks for co-development of advanced platforms and boosting indigenous manufacturing capabilities. The officials emphasized that closer defence industrial collaboration is essential for mutual security interests, regional stability, and sustainable defence growth. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining regular high-level dialogue as a cornerstone of bilateral relations.
During the visit, bilateral engagements included meetings with other senior officials to discuss various aspects of defence cooperation. The strategic partnership between India and Oman encompasses political, economic, and cultural spheres, with shared interests in energy security, maritime safety, counter-terrorism, and regional stability.
