Athens [Greece]: India and Greece agreed to develop an industrial roadmap for joint ventures, co-production and co-development in defence technologies following the 2nd India–Greece Joint Working Group (JWG) on Defence Cooperation, held at the Hellenic Army Academy on October 15, 2026.

The meeting is co-chaired by Ambassador A.H. Michel Spinellis and Dr Amit Telang, Joint Secretary (International Cooperation). Both sides reviewed ongoing defence cooperation and explored new initiatives in capacity building, military training, regional security, defence industry and maritime cooperation.
The proposed roadmap marks a step towards translating the India–Greece strategic partnership into practical industrial collaboration. Joint ventures and co-production could create opportunities for defence companies in both countries, while co-development could support technology sharing and strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities.
The latest engagement was built on the Joint Declaration of Intent signed by the two countries in February 2026 to strengthen defence-industrial cooperation. That declaration provided the starting point for a five-year roadmap, while the two countries’ Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan for 2026 outlines military engagements.
The discussions also reflected India’s broader effort to expand defence partnerships with European countries through industrial collaboration, indigenous manufacturing and technology development. However, the October 15 meeting does not announce any specific contract, joint venture or production programme.
