New Delhi: INS Teg, the state-of-the-art guided missile stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, has completed 10 glorious years of serving the nation selflessly.
The Indian Navy today said in a tweet, 'Teg Tigers', the crew of #INSTeg – #WesternFleet's frontline Guided Missile #ASW Stealth Frigate, celebrated 10 years of glorious service to the nation on #27Apr 22. The ship's motto 'Towards Eternal Glory' aptly summarises her indomitable spirit."
The fourth Talwar-class frigate, built by the Yantar shipyard in Russia for the Indian Navy, was commissioned on 27 April 2012.
INS Teg is based at Mumbai and part of the Western Fleet.
With a displacement of 4000 tons and speed of 30 knots, the weapons suite of the 125-metre, 4,000-tonne frigate includes the BrahMos surface-to-surface missile system, a surface-to-air missile system, 100 mm medium-range gun, close-in weapon system (CIWS), torpedo tubes, and anti-submarine rockets.
