Air Force Chetak makes emergency landing in Prayagraj

An IAF engineering unit reached the spot and conducted a technical inspection. Officials said the chopper was then flown back to the Air Force base.

Prayagraj: A Chetak helicopter of the Indian Air Force made a safe precautionary landing in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj on Saturday after suspecting some technical snag, officials said.

An IAF engineering unit reached the spot and conducted a technical inspection. Officials said the chopper was then flown back to the Air Force base.

“One Chetak helicopter of the IAF, on a routine training mission carried out a safe precautionary landing at 1040h at Holagadh near Prayagraj. No harm or injuries were reported. The helicopter has been flown back to base after providing necessary technical assistance,” Central Air Command said in a statement.

Earlier, an Indian Air Force Advanced Light Helicopter, Dhruv made a precautionary landing near Bhopal due to a technical glitch.

The incident took place when the helicopter was on a routine training mission. The pilot noticed the technical glitch and decided to make a precautionary landing in an open field near Bhopal. There were no casualties or injuries reported in the incident.
