New Delhi: India’s defence export has increased by 78% in the first quarter of 2024-25 as compared to same period last fiscal year.

According to Defence Ministry, defence export increased to Rs 6,915 crores in the first quarter of 2024-25, compared to Rs 3,865 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.

The defence Industry, including the private sector and Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), have made tremendous efforts in achieving this high pace in defence exports. Out of total exports, DPSUs have contributed 60 percent while private firms’ share is 40%.

The ministry said, this leap underscores our firm commitment to Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbharta in Defence, setting a new benchmark in self-reliance and innovation.

The last fiscal year had witnessed defence exports touching a record Rs 21,083 crore (approx. US$ 2.63 Billion), a growth of 32.5% over the FY 2022-23 when the figure was Rs 15,920 crore.
