HAL reports impressive results; Q4 net profit rises 52% to Rs 4,308 crore
Mumbai: Defence PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) today reported a 52 per cent year-on-year growth in net profit at Rs 4,308 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2024.
The company’s revenue from operations jumped 18 percent year-on-year to Rs 14,768.70 crore in Q4. The same stood at Rs 12,494 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
On a sequential basis, profit more than doubled from Rs 1,261 crore reported in the preceding December quarter. Revenue rose by a massive 140 percent on sequential basis, Q3 is a historically weak quarter for HAL.
HAL, whose customers include the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, along with aerospace corporations Airbus and Boeing, said its margins during the March quarter improved to 35 percent as against 25.9 percent a year ago.
“Despite the major supply chain challenges arising due to geopolitical issues, the Company has met the expected revenue growth with improved performance for the entire year. As on March 31, 2024, the company’s order book stands in excess of Rs 94,000 crore with additional major orders expected during FY25”, said C B Ananthakrishnan, CMD (Addl Charge), HAL.
HAL received fresh manufacturing contracts of over Rs 19,000 crore and ROH contracts of over Rs 16,000 crore during FY24.
