India starts export of Pinaka rocket systems to Armenia
New Delhi: India has started the supply of the highly capable Pinaka rockets to Armenia. The Pinaka rocket launchers are highly capable weapon system with variants which can strike targets over 80 Kms. The missile has been named after the Hindu god Shiva’s divine bow.
These DRDO-developed rocket launchers were being supplied at the same time when India started the Akash air defence missile system’s deliveries to Armenia.
This highly capable weapon system comes in variants and can strike targets that are more than 80 km away.
The contract between Armenian and Indian firms for supplying Pinaka weapons was signed around two years ago after the negotiations were extended.
Armenia is among India’s three largest buyers of weapons and equipment, along with France and the United States.
