Solar Industries bags Rs 2,039 cr defence export orders; delivers 480 loitering munition Nagastra-1, to Indian Army

New Delhi: Solar Industries India Ltd. along with its subsidiary Economic Explosives (EEL) have bagged export contracts worth Rs 2,039 crore.

These orders for the supply of defence products to international clients, which will be fulfilled over the next four years.

In another major mileston, Solar Industry has delivered 480 Nagastra-1 loitering munitions to Indian Army. These munitions, featuring over 75% indigenous content, were delivered under a contract finalised through emergency procurement powers, according to defence officials.

Nagastra-1 is the first loitering munition designed and developed entirely in India. The system is lightweight, man-portable, and tailored to enhance the Army’s precision strike capabilities.

It is expected to play a crucial role in modern combat scenarios by enabling effective targeting with minimal collateral damage.
