New Delhi: Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met a bipartisan delegation from the US House of Representatives led by Brian Mast, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, on Monday September 28, with discussions focused on the evolving India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and strengthening defence industrial and technological cooperation.

The Ministry of Defence said in a post on X that the meeting centred on the “evolving India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership”, with particular emphasis on defence industry and technology. The ministry did not announce any specific agreement or new initiative arising from the talks.
The meeting followed the conclusion of Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026, the 22nd edition of the India-US Army exercise, which was held simultaneously at Auli in Uttarakhand and the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. The exercise involved joint training in mountainous and desert environments, with a focus on interoperability, joint planning and the use of drones and autonomous systems for surveillance and reconnaissance.
During the exercise, the Indian Army said the SkyStriker loitering munition carried out a precision strike at Mahajan, demonstrating the role of unmanned systems and precision effects in contemporary operations. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and Lieutenant General Vikrant Suresh Deshpande, General Officer Commanding of 10 Corps, had also witnessed a joint firing demonstration involving Indian and US forces at the range.
The latest engagement adds a parliamentary dimension to ongoing defence ties, alongside military exercises and government-level dialogue. Its emphasis on industrial and technological cooperation comes as both countries continue to pursue closer collaboration in defence capabilities and emerging technologies.
