Addressing the Times Network National Defence Conclave in New Delhi, Singh says India does not seek to occupy another country’s territory and supports global stability. However, he stresses that peace should not be mistaken for weakness and that national security remains non-negotiable.
The Defence Minister also takes a firm position on cross-border terrorism, stating that dialogue cannot continue with any country that promotes terrorism against India. His remarks underline New Delhi’s approach of pursuing peace and cooperation while retaining the option of decisive action against security threats.
Singh’s message reinforces India’s broader security doctrine: peaceful engagement and regional stability remain priorities, but they must be backed by the ability to protect national interests, sovereignty and strategic independence.
