The Ministry of Defence Consultative Committee will bring together the Defence Minister and Members of Parliament to discuss key issues concerning defence policy and the armed forces. Rajnath Singh chairs the committee, which will include members from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

Jaisalmer’s strategic location near the India-Pakistan border adds significance to the visit, with border security and military preparedness remaining important priorities for India’s western sector. The meeting provides a platform for parliamentary engagement on the armed forces’ evolving operational requirements and modernisation priorities.
