The deployment also builds on the momentum of the 23rd India–Russia Annual Summit, held on December 4–5, 2025. INDRA-2026 provides both navies an opportunity to exchange professional expertise and improve their ability to coordinate during maritime operations.

The exercise highlights the continued importance of bilateral naval engagement as India seeks to strengthen maritime cooperation and operational partnerships across the Indo-Pacific and beyond.
