Following the meeting, Singh described the discussions as productive and said that both sides reviewed their expanding defence partnership while exploring new avenues for cooperation. The talks reflected efforts by New Delhi and Seoul to deepen strategic engagement amid evolving regional security challenges.
India and South Korea have steadily expanded defence and industrial cooperation, including collaboration in defence manufacturing and military equipment. Their partnership offers scope for further engagement in technology development and industrial cooperation, although no new agreement or procurement deal is announced in the reported meeting.
The two countries also shared an interest in maintaining stability across the Indo-Pacific. Stronger defence engagement can support military exchanges, improve coordination and create opportunities for cooperation in emerging defence technologies.
The meeting took place as Singh leads India’s delegation at ADMM-Plus, hosted by the Philippines on October 28–29. The forum bought together ASEAN member states and eight dialogue partners, including India and South Korea, to discuss regional security and strengthen multilateral defence cooperation.
