A total of 92 athletes from the three Services compete across 19 disciplines, contributing 32% of India’s overall medal tally. India finishes fourth with 85 medals, comprising 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi also attends the felicitation ceremony in New Delhi

Among the standout performers, Naib Subedar Neeru Dhanda wins two gold medals and one silver, becoming the first Indian woman to win gold in the individual women’s trap event at the Asian Games. Naib Subedar Gulveer Singh secures two silver medals and one bronze, becoming the first Indian male track-and-field athlete to win three individual medals at a single edition of the Games.

Havildar Sawan Barwal wins silver in the men’s marathon with a national-record time of 2:11:37, ending India’s 44-year wait for an Asian Games marathon medal. Naib Subedar Sarvesh Kushare also secures a medal in the men’s high jump, ending a 56-year gap for India in the event.

Singh credits the athletes’ discipline, hard work and team spirit, while recognising the contribution of the Mission Olympic Wing, coaches, physiotherapists, nutritionists and support staff. The wing helps identify talent, provide scientific training and prepare Services athletes for international competitions.
