The White Knight Corps, under Northern Command, conducted the Train with Your Army camp from October 17–19 at the Corps Battle School in Sarol, in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir’s Civil Defence Organisation and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). Participants included 16 SDRF personnel and 34 Civil Defence volunteers drawn from Jammu, Doda, Samba, Akhnoor, Sunderbani, Nowshera and Rajouri.
Training covered hybrid warfare, drone threats, air raids, information warfare, cyber threats, survival techniques and emergency-response procedures. Practical demonstrations provide participants with hands-on exposure to responding to evolving threats, strengthening coordination between military and civilian responders.
Major General Manoj Kumar Ruria, General Officer Commanding of the Ace of Spades Division, felicitated outstanding trainees at the closing ceremony, attended by district administration and police officials. The initiative reinforced the Army’s role in civil–military coordination and community-level resilience.
The camp broadened local preparedness for both security emergencies and disasters. Its long-term value, however, will depend on regular refresher training, inter-agency coordination and whether volunteers can apply these skills effectively during real emergencies.
